Dubauskas, Lee, Luster, Potter and Robinson to join Flyers. Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University head men's basketball coach Scott Trost announced on Thursday (June 3) that Mantas Dubauskas (Romeoville, Ill./St. Joseph's), Jeron Lee (Chicago, Ill./Marshall/Southeastern CC), David Luster (South Holland, Ill./Seton Academy/Johnson County CC), Ben Potter (Batavia, Ill./Batavia/Carthage) and Jerome Robinson (Skokie, Ill./St. Patrick's/Morton College) will suit up for the Flyers beginning in 2010-11. "I am extremely happy with the overall quality of this class," Trost said. "All of them come from winning programs and know what it takes to succeed. "I look forward to each of them impacting our program in a positive way." Dubauskas, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound forward, comes to Lewis from St. Joseph's where he was coached by the legendary Gene Pingatore. A two-time, First Team All-East Suburban Catholic Conference selection, Dubauskas averaged 13 points and six rebounds-per-game for the Chargers on his way to All-State 3A/4A Special Mention accolades as a senior. "Mantas plays as hard and as with much urgency as anyone around," Trost said. "He played in a great high school program and I look forward to him becoming a very good collegiate player." Lee, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing, earned Second Team All-Region XI honors as a sophomore, as he averaged 13 points and 7.0 rebounds-per-game to help Southeastern CC advance to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. In high school, Lee helped Chicago Marshall win the 2008 3A state championship. "Jeron is a long and rangy athletic wing that can really shoot the ball," Trost said. "He helped his team win a high school state championship and was an important part of his team that made it to the National Tournament this past season." Luster, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound combo guard, was the leading scorer in the highly competitive Kansas Jayhawk Conference as he led Johnson County CC in scoring with 20.3 points-per-game, on his way to First Team All-Conference honors. Luster can score the ball in a variety of ways, but was especially effective from beyond the arc as he knocked down 67 trifectas as a sophomore. "David can really score the basketball," Trost said. "He can shoot and if you crowd him, he can go by you and get to the rim. "You don't lead the Kansas Jayhawk Conference in scoring by accident." Potter, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard, joins the Flyers and former high school backcourt mate David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) after spending his freshman year at Carthage. In high school, Potter was named to the All-Western Sun Conference First Team and was a Daily Herald All-Area selection. Robinson, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound post player, was a key factor in helping Morton College finish 11th overall in the final NJCAA Division I Poll with a school-record 26 victories. As a sophomore, Robinson averaged 12.9 points-per-game and shot 60.0% from the field on his way to First Team All-Skyway Conference honors. As a freshman, Robinson chipped in 12.0 points and 8.1 rebounds-per-contest and was named the Region IV NJCAA Tournament MVP. "Jerome is a tremendous competitor and has a great work ethic," Trost said. "His college coach, Frank Lollino, Jr. said he never had a young man work harder than Jerome and that he was his `franchise' player." A Catholic university sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis offers more than 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, accelerated degree completion options for working adults, various aviation programs and 22 graduate programs in nine fields. The ninth largest private, not-for-profit university in Illinois is being honored for the sixth consecutive year by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report.
